A Classical Dance Performance was organized by Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam on 27th February 1999 at Nehru Sidhant Kender. This performance encased a modern interpretation of the rich Indian cultural heritage in the world of dance. The music was given by Anand Shankar, the internationally renowned composer and choreography was done by his wife Tanushree Sankar, an accomplished actress, choreographer and dancer.

The dances were based on the creative style pioneered by Anand’s father, Late Udai Shankar who was highly instrumental in popularizing Indian dance and music all over the world. The dance symphonies were rooted deep in the spirits of India and presented theatrically to captivate the audience.

The programme received wide acclaim not only from the gentry of Ludhiana but also from the eminent guests invited from all over the Punjab.
