On the occasion of Durga Puja, Shri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra, Delhi presented its world-famous, creative production of the epic Ramayana This was the sixth cultural presentation organized by Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam.
The Ram Lila enacted by Shri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra was not in a dialogue form but in a dance-drama form. Chopais and Dohas from Tulsidas Ramayana were depicted in rhyme and were complemented by excellent classical dance performance and expressive acting. The performance was all the more enthralling on account of the special sets made of cardboard and the colourful costumes of the artists. The programme was highly successful in its lucid, entertaining portrayal of the deep, spiritual contents of the Ramayana. It held a great attraction for th children in the crowd.
The programme was widely appreciated and reported in the local media and received a wide coverage through the local cable network. This programme was jointly sponsored by Vardhman Spinning & General Mills Limited, Metro Group of Companies, Hindustan Tyres Limited and Surpal Industries. The venue was provided free of charge by Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust. Light and sound arrangements were also provided free of charge by Cyclone Acoustics.
