In the memory of the famous poet Sahir Ludhianvi, an International Mushaira titled “Jashn-e-Sahir 2000” was organized jointly by LSS and Adeeb International (Sahir Cultural Academy) on 25th March, 2000 at Nehru Sidhant Kender.
On this occasion, a galaxy of poets both from within the country and also from across the seven seas, including UK, USA, Canada and UAE came together to create a magical evening of Sher-O-Shayari. In the course of the program the millennium 2000 annual Adeeb awards were given away to the poets. The mushaira was compeered by noted poet Mauj Rampuri and many talented poets like Mehak Bharati, Rahi Shahabi, Anjum Rehbar, Rahat Indori and many others participated keeping the enthusiastic audience revelling in the realm of poetry till the wee hours of the morning.
The programme was widely appreciated and reported in the local media including cable network.
This programme was sponsored jointly by Hero Cycles Limited and Hero Honda Motors Limited. Venue was by courtesy, Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust and light and sound was provided free of charge by Cyclone Acoustics.
