This most famous Sufi Group has been flown in from Iran for inaugural programme of this year’s Spic Macay/LSS opening on 24th December,02 at Ludhiana.
Rumi was Sufi who started this sufi tradition.Sufism is older than islam.Sufism is Abraham’s legacy to his son ishmael and was the school of spiritual knowledge based on self realization as the door toward understanding the path to openess with god.Before the time of the prophet the discipline was simply called the understanding was based on god’s law.
Among the most famous were : Salman Farsi ,Ammar yasser,Balla’al,and Abduullah Masoud;some historians have added Oveyse Gharani to this list as well.History shows that within a century or two their style of self understading and discipline were introduced by their students to nations as diverse and widely separated as persia,India,Indonesia,Syria,Egypt,Mesopotamia,and north Africa.The Rumi Sufi group from Iran represents and preserves the original tradition of sufism and is privilege of L.S.S. to bring them from iran.
Allauddin Khan- Dilruba Esraj
Allauddin Khan born in 1947 in Delhi. He belongs to classical musical family. He began learning first Sarangi at the tender age of five from his father Ustad Mohd. Ahmed Banne Khan Sahib. The renowned sarangi player from Sonepat and dilli Gharana. After that he started learning dilrubba Esraj from his contemporary of Ustad Bade Gulam Sabri is a renowned sarangi player.
Allauddin Khan,Dilruba Esraj player received guidance from Najar Mohd. Khan and Mohd. Ali Khan of dilli gharana as well. As an esraj player he is the first person who got A-Grade in first audition from AIR. He was the first person also who performed Dilruba esraj in national program and radio sangeet sammellan. He is among the fortunate artist of India whos L.P. disk and CD album was prepared in abroad.
Khan sahib’s performance has been well praised by the audience in India and abroad. He has been to Darlington college of London as a visiting cum performing professor. He has been invited to perform in Queen Elizabeth hall and has performed at Bolshoi theater USSR, India festival London and Siraj festival of Iran and Paris Festival. Last year in festival name “Duniya festival” held at London. He gave up unforgettable performance and was acclaimed by the press.
