‘Pencil Sey Brush Tak’, Ekjute Theatre have portrayed the life of famous painter from the very beginning, from him coming from a background of a very small village in Maharashtra. Despite his religion we see that his grandfather used to sell diyas outside a mandir, his mother tongue was Marathi and he grew up watching the Ram Leela with his entire family. He was brought up in an environment of all the cultures and religions living in harmony.

India is proud to be a country of diverse religions and cultures.

In this play Ekjute Theatre have shown a painter from a small village rising above all prejudices and with his art trying to bring harmony in this diversity.

Because of his roots we understand how this painter made a series of 150 paintings of the Ramayana which are considered to be the best in any religious epic series. In his work we can see the blend of different cultures of our heritage.

We can confidently say that his art is a contribution to the heritage of our country. He not only stands head above shoulder in the field of art in our country, but has also brought India fame all over the world and has written India’s name on the international art circuit and made our country proud.
