MADRAS CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
The group, which consisted of stalwarts from the field such as Malcolm Ranjore, George Samuel, Desmond J. Xavier and Jerry Fernandes, began practicing Mozart’s quartets together, and in 1969, the Madras Chamber Orchestra officially came into existence.
For those in Indian audience, you would be more familiar and happy to know that this group performs for Mr. A.R. Rahman continuously wherever he require a true western performance including Mr. A.R. Rahman’s Oscar winning sound track for “Slumdog Millionaire”, Best Song winner “Jai Ho” and the background score. They also previously played on the soundtrack of the Oscar nominated movie “Lagaan”.
For the lovers of music in Ludhiana this will be an occasion set up and take a notice of the fact that how delightful and sensual western music could be. Needless to say it will be western music and art in this highest form.
