August: Osage County by Tracy Letts was the recipient of the 2007 Pulitzer prize for Drama and has won 7 Tony Awards. It also ran on Broadway and at the very prestigious National Theatre in London and was a huge critical and popular success.

The play was brought in India by renowned stage personality Lillete Dubey at Siri Fort in New Delhi and has completed over 30 shows and traveled to Gurgaon, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jaipur & Dubai with full house and a terrific response.

‘August: Osage County’ falls into the rare genre of ‘black comedy’. It depicts the life of a Christian family based in Goa and explores the various relationships that exist between them. With an alcoholic father pill-popping mother, a daughter carrying on a secret affair and a newly-divorced aunt who is trying to hide the fact that she and her husband have separated. It depicts the ways in which they attempt to cope when the father and head of the family goes missing, and is later found drowned.
